MPEG Streamclip – a FREE Video File Converter from Squared 5

Okay, so the video files created by Harmony can be big.  Really big.  Really, really Big.  The all-time record here at Digital Chaotics is 26GB on an 11-minute video.  If you ask me, that’s Big.

Fortunately, there’s a way around this:

MPEG Streamclip is what we recommend to convert and compressing Harmony videos into smaller files that are easier to upload.  MPEG Streamclip supports a wide range of video file formats, including MPEG, MP4, AVI, WMV, and MOV.

Best of all, MPEG Streamclip is FREE:  http://www.squared5.com

Many thanks to Stefano Cinque for creating and maintaining MPEG Streamclip.

Audacity – a Free Audio Editor

Occasionally Harmony has trouble opening certain audio files. The only solution, and it has worked every time here at Digital Chaotics, is to run the file through a converter, to “standardize” it. This is the tool you want:

Audacity lets you convert, trim, and edit those pesky audio files that need a tweak or two before importing them into Harmony.

And yes, Audacity is FREE:  http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/ (Support Audacity!)

Many thanks to the Audacity team for creating and maintaining Audacity.
